I usually use egg shells for calcium in the soup but I dont have any. I do have calcium supplements. Can I use those?

I think that would depend on the ingredients in the supplement. I know a lot of human supplements have Vitamin D added, and it might be too much. Eggshells work well because they are 95% pure calcium carbonate (at least bird eggs are). If the supplement was pure calcium carbonate, I don't think it would be an issue. Unfortunately, most human supplements contain a bunch of other junk...

How long will it be before you get more eggshells? If you're just out of powder, you can grind your own with a coffee grinder. If you're out of eggs, you can pick up more soon I would think? If you have any raw bone, that works too.
With a raw diet, balance over time is key. Every meal doesn't have to be a perfect balance of nutrients as long as you get everything in there eventually.

I usually make big batches that last 3 weeks but over the last 3 weeks no one has eaten any eggs. I wouldnt want to waste a lot of eggs. I do have raw bone but I have no way of grinding it.

Oh I guess I was confused. I thought you were out of eggs? But yeah, ferrets can eat the entire egg.

So how many eggs should I add to 3 weeks worth of soup? I always added 3 whole eggs plus some egg shell.

About how much is "3 weeks worth of soup". 2 cups? 5 cups?

Its for 3 ferrets. Maybe about 10 pounds?

You use 1/2 tsp per 8 oz of meat (roughly, it depends on the ferrets). So about 1 tsp per lb of meat. I don't know how much shell is produced by one egg but it gives you an idea as to how much you need. Are you planning to do any Christmas baking? I just used 1/2 a dozen eggs on baking tonight. ciao

Does it matter how many eggs are put in the soup? Like if I needed 10 eggs could I add 10 eggs to the soup?

2 egg shells are about 2.5 tsp. I had some eggs yesterday and today so I have 4 egg shells. So would it be ok if I put 4 eggs in the soup?

I usually use about 1 egg for every 2lbs of meat; roughly 5 eggs for my 10 lbs mix, but that would be the amount of rmb, that doesn't include my organ meats, hearts or the pumpkin The total amount of the mix might actually be about 12 or so lbs but you're splitting hairs at that level ciao
