Hello! I have recently been searching this board for info and I thought I'd come out of lurking and actually say hi and introduce myself. I am from ice-cold Michigan, and my boyfriend and I were rescued by four little bundles of joy about three years ago. As you all know, they all have their own little (or not-so-little) personalities, so I'll go ahead and introduce them:
Guinness is my baby boy. He will be turning 4 in February. He is our climber, and prides himself in showing off his ripped muscles as he pulls himself up onto things. He also has a sweet tooth and gives Mommy lots of kisses when I eat ice cream, or anything sweet for that matter.
Bailey was (and still is) his cagemate when we rescued them from a young couple that didn't have time for them (their loss, our gain!). She turned 4 this past fall, and she is our little terrorist. She is always trying to get into the couch. If I walk away for even a split second, she will come running from where ever she is to attempt a break-in! She also likes to steal toys. If you try to play with one of her "babies", she will try her hardest to get it from you and then drag it just beyond your reach behind the couch. As crazy as she is, she is also a cuddle bug and will fall asleep in my arms once she's done playing.
Cocoa is our other little girl. She also turned 4 over the fall. We rescued her and her cagemate Bear from a different family about 8 months after falling in love with Bailey and Guinness. She loves enrichment and has even learned to "roll over" for a treat. And she loves human food! She will sit and beg like a dog if we are eating anything. Cheerios, pepperoni, eggs - it doesn't matter, she wants it!
Bear is an albino, and is also called Mr. Bear (by mommy) and Buddha Buddy (by daddy). He is our oldest and will be turning 5 in February. Bear is a ferret to the core - he has no interest in human food, he sleeps in all sorts of crazy positions, and he dooks the loudest of 'em all. We also think Bear has a ghost buddy that he plays with, as we catch him dooking out of nowhere in the bathroom with no one else nearby. Sadly, he was just diagnosed this week with insulinoma. We had a scare on Sunday night and had to took him to the animal ER, where he spent the night. After spending several hours with our vet yesterday and today, he is now acting more like himself, but very tired. We are hoping the prednisone will help him regain his strength and be our old "dooking" Bear again.
So that's the "business"! We also have a shih tzu rescue named Sasha. She is registered as Queen of Tiny Creatures - even though she is petrified of the furbabies and camps out on the couch while they are out, lol.
