The new baby boy will likely eat more than the girls becuase he is growing.
Instead of all parts of chicken, I'd recommend just chicken wings and legs, anything much largere and they won't really eat the bones, as it is they may only gnaw the ends of the leg bone and the drummette. Cornish Game hens on the other hand can be totally devoured by the ferret without any problems at all - so you'll get more available calcium from a CGH than from chicken wings or legs even.
Feed them at 12 hour intervals. Because they actually get proper nutrition from the meaty bones and whole prey they don't need to eat constantlylike kibble fed ferrets.
Offer organ meats once a week, pick a day for delicacies(raw eggs with pulverized shell and cream) - I use Sunday, and this can be the day they "fast" too. Only offer them their egg & cream in the morning, then don't feed them again until Monday morning.
Fasting for a day will send them around to clean up their stashes and keeps them looking forward to their meals!
THink of your feeding as how they might eat were they wild polecats. Their diet is a variety over time so it is balanced over time. If they grab a rabbit, they'll get several meals that may last a few days from that rabbit but only one set of organs. Same as with a chicken or hen. Mice and ratson the other hand are a single serving and some ferrets, depending on age and sizecan put away up to three mice at a time!
If you use their wild counterparts as models, rodents make up about 72% of their diet! And there are bound to be days when their hunt turns up nothing but insects or invertebrates, or even nothing.
Try to emulate that and you should do well!
Cheers, Kim
