So I understand that getting pooped on is well, part of animal ownership. I did not however, expect to be pooped on by a nearly 4 foot snake. Ever. Well, I enjoyed some quality time with Tito, gave her a bath, clipped her nails, fed her a treat and let her watch the fish while I took pictures. I was feeling pretty good and thought well Shiiva *my ball python) needs some attention too so I will take her in the shower with me. Everyone needs some quality time out of the cage! So we took a shower and she had fun. Still feeling productive I decided to attempt to measure her. After not having much luck (as always lol) I managed to get a mark on the wall and went to put her back. As I am opening her cage with her in my other hand/on my shoulder, I hear a plop noise and figured one of the papers I have on her cage lid fell off when I opened it. I then hear more plops and feel something wet and slimy hit my foot...and leg... Apparently she has no issue telling me what she thinks of being measured!!!! The funny thing is, she ate several days ago, and in the shower I had this thought of how gross it would be if she pooped on me in the shower (she hangs out on a curtain rod above the shower head). Normally though I can see her end become a bit more "swollen" on the day she is about to poop, and I didn't see that so I figured I was safe. Not! I have now officially experienced being pooped on by a snake. Fantastic. It smelled awful by the way and I had to go back in the shower to rinse off my legs again. Gross!

You have some of the most unique pet stories I've come across. Sounds like you gravitate toward the critters with attitude!

Either she was letting you know what she thought of being measured, or else it was what she now thinks of you for doing that to her

Sherrylynne - Hopefully just the first! Halbingefrau....I do believe that you are correct. You know though, it reminds me of beign a kid and anytime I got into trouble my Mom would tell me "Just wait until you have kids, it will come back tenfold!" Well, I look at my critters as my children, so maybe this is the "karma" my mom mentioned? If so, I am ok with getting it over with animals (that can be caged haha) and hopefully being done with he "karma" by the time I have skin kids! *crosses fingers* lmao

Snakes defecating on people is really not too common. Part of the reason she did was that it was so late at night - they are nocturnal, I gave her a shower (a nice warm soak helps with digestion), I handled her a lot and had her moving around in my attempts to measure her, which gets things moving... (I always give her a minimum of 3 days to digest before handling of course).

I've been pooped on by all four variety of snakes I've had. I thought it was super common

I've never been pooped on by my BP thankfully although a while back I took him out and he was super antsy so I put him back and he pooped that night, narrowly avoided there!
