;D Wow, these are the cutest little ferret smilies I've ever seen! Anyway, HI! My name is Rachael! I live in Orlando, Florida and I am the proud mommy of four ferrets and one kitty!
The reason I joined this site was because, firstly, I want to start my babies on a natural diet! This is very important to me and I don't want to just jump into it for fear of doing my fur-babies more harm than good. I was told that I could get a mentor here, so I'm excited about having a "teacher-student' interaction with an experienced and knowledgable member! I also thought it would be a great opportunity to make friends with other ferret-parents!
Thanks for your time!

Welcome to the forum! You can indeed get a mentor and get great one-on-one help with your switch to a natural diet. Also look around the nutrition threads to familiarize yourself with raw/whole prey diets. Everyone is friendly and helpful so feel free to ask any questions you'd like. And we'd love to see pictures of your fuzzies.

Hi, and welcome to the forum Please, feel free to browse, and take a good look through the nutrition section, as well as the Archives, and the mentoring section. That will give you a good idea of what to expect, and the various methods of switching ferrets. Oh, and some pics would be good

I use Photobucket. Just make an account and upload your pictures. There will be a box by each picture that says "Share this photo". Just copy the IMG code and paste it into your post.

Hi and welcome Please do prowl the site. Check out the mentoring program. You can prowl through the personal threads check out the various methods that people have used, some of the tricks and also some of the pitfalls. Every little fuzzbutt is different and each has it's own idea as to what it considers is food. You cannot post to those individual threads but you can ask questions in the newbie's question section. I hope that I will be seeing you around. Most people on here have found that the more they became involved the more information they acquired. So, do ask questions and become involved in the discussions. Have fun ciao

Hi 1cat4ferrets! I'm up here in Tallahassee. I just switched my first ferret to raw a few months ago with the help of my ferret mentors ( I was lucky and got both Jennifer AND Heather). Having their support made me a lot more confident with the switch and I think had a lot to do with how smoothly Jack's transition went. If you're serious about switching, signing up for a mentor is a great idea! The health section is also super helpful; i think between all the members, someone has been through everything with their babies.

Hi and welcome! Check out the feeding and nutrition section of the forum. We have a great mentor program that you can sign up for to help with the switch if you would like! And please - we are all picture addicts here and without new ferret pictures soon, we might all go into serious health-threatening withdrawals. There are a few ways to add pics, but the easiest is to use photobucket and copy/paste the image source. Otherwise, if you have pics on facebook or flicker or something like that, you can right click the image, select copy image location, and paste it into the reply box on he forum. Then highlight the link, and click on the button in the menu above that looks like a photograph, it will surround your like with these little boxes: [/img ] (I added extra spaces so they'd show up lol). So then it should say {img}www.picturelinkgoeshere.com[/img} When you post the post, the picture will show up. I hope that helps, let me know if I didn't make sense... lol
