I'm, Jeff, and I've been looking around here ever since I heard about the site on another forum a few days ago, and decided to join up. I've been doing a lot of research into getting a ferret for the past month or so, and have decided that I'm going to get one. I currently have two bearded dragons, a leopard gecko, and a B/W tegu, so most of my current experience is with reptiles. In the past I have owned guinea pigs (my sister actually has one now), hamsters, rabbits, and cats.
I look forward to learning and getting as much advise as much as I can about ferrets, and being part of the community.

Welcome to the forum! Feel free to look around and ask any questions. Everyone is friendly and helpful and no question is considered silly. If you're new to the world of ferrets, I would definitely recommend reading Ferrets for Dummies, 2nd Edition by Kim Schilling. Any questions asked on the forum will be answered but Ferrets for Dummies is a great way to learn all the basics in ferret care. There are lots of things you'd probably never think to ask about and it's a great reference to have around. You might want to consider getting two ferrets. As some of our members can attest, one ferret is in many ways more work than two.

That is a good idea, I think I'll look into getting ahold of a copy...And I know that having only one ferret will mean that I can expect to interact with it a lot more, but I'm fine with that. I can't start out with two because I still live with my parents, and it has been hard enough to convince them to let me have even one lol. I'll work on that a little more though haha.

Hi and welcome So you haven't made the leap of faith and into the wonderful world of fuzzies. They are indeed well worth the work that they are. Prowl through the various threads, there's a ton of information here and questions are always welcome. There are a couple of new ferrants on board so a lot of the most recent threads are directly related to some of the problems that have been encountered. The best way to deal with ferrets... be prepared.....they're a lot of fun but they're a lot of work too and they are mischief in tiny furry packages (some more than others...hello there Koda ) Good luck, we would love to see photos of your little chosen one when you get your furbaby. ciao

Just getting things all straightened out and ready. And there will definitely be pictures. And thanks for the welcome everyone.
