Hey everyone! I am new not just to these forums but to the entire world of ferrets. It's an exciting time.
A little about me: My name is Mike, I am 24 years old and live in Guelph, ON. I am partially retired I guess, I rent out rooms to students and have way too much free time. As for my pet experience it's fairly limited. I had a couple of cats; but when I moved out of home I left them with my mom. I had a dog this summer I adopted named Charlie, but unfortunately it didn't work out and I had to find him a more suitable owner. In the past I have had rabbits (probably 15 at my peak) as I would take in any unwanted rabbits and house them until suitable homes could be found. I have always been a fan of ferrets but never had any until last week.
I took in a ferret last week and a second one a few nights ago. I renamed them and turned my 15x4 closet into a room for them.
Nicolas Cage was the first one I got. He is about 7 months old. Very energetic.
Bob Saget is the second one I got so that Nicolas wasn't alone. He is a 10 month old. Much more laid back.
They look very similar, minus Bob being a bit larger, and heavier. I will post some pictures soon since I know you all love them.
They seem to be getting along pretty good. Sometimes Nicolas wants to go go go and play with Bob but Bob is kind of lazy (previous owners didn't do much with him I don't think) so he sometimes gets a little fed up with Nicolas and hisses slightly or whines. But they are getting much better.
Anyways! New to owning ferrets and to the forums. Pretty much spending all of my time lately reading up anything and everything I can, in that quest I found this place and once I get more settled in with the boys I will be starting the journey into feeding a natural diet.
So hello to you all! and I look forward to meeting more of you and becoming an active member around here.
