Hello. Someone sent me this link for a good place to learn about raw diets. I have had pet ferrets since I was 13, so for the past 17 years. I have 6 little brats at the present. I actually just got a new guy on sunday. His name is Indy and is a beautiful DEW. Then I have Zool, who is a rescue, he will be 10 in January, Zoey my sweet little tiny sable is 6 also a rescue, Huck, my handsome guy is 3, Silly Lily is 3, and Sid is just 1. I always say no more, cause it breaks my heart that they have such a short life span. But I just can't do it. Need that ferret fix. My guys eat a mixture of EVO, GO grain free, Marshalls and purina one kitten. Then they get their Dook soup every night, except Zool all he eats is soup, he has no teeth from a poor diet with his previous owner. But I would like them to eat healthier

Welcome to the forum! Feel free to browse around and ask questions. Everyone is friendly and helpful and no question is considered silly. If you're interested in switching your fuzzies to a raw or whole prey diet, consider checking out the mentor program. A mentor is a great way to get one-on-one help with all your questions and concerns about switching. And by the way, we'd love to see pictures of your babies!

Hi and welcome to the forum! I would get your guys atleast off of Marshall's and Purina kitten right away. Marshall's knows nothing about ferret food and is a horrid food, we will not even feed it at the rescue. And Purina is not healthy for your cat, let alone your ferret.
But, obviously you are here cause you want to switch to raw! Take a look around, and check out the mentor program!
10 is an impressive age!

I would agree the Mashall and Purina foods are no good. I'd stick with EVO and GO Grain Free until you get them onto raw

I totally agree that the Marshalls and Purina one isn't the best food for my babies. The reason for the Purina One is Huck got sick, and I scrambled around for anything that he would eat, just so he would eat something. He had a kind of colitis, which is all gone now. But he won't touch anything unless it has that food in it. It is a very small amount. 75%Go and 25% purina. They get the Marshalls as a treat. And Lately been adding the EVO, so hopefully they will eventually have that and the GO together. Ferrets are so picky. Sidney is the only one that will eat chicken, when he smells it he comes a running. I do want to try to get my little brats to eat raw though. Anything to benefit their health.

They really can be fussy little beggars! As for the diet, we can help you with the switch, if you like

Welcome! We all love to see pictures of fur babies! You'll find that everyone here is great and will help you find the answers to even the most difficult questions. I really don't know where I'd be without the ferrents here... Look around in the feeding sections, there's tons of info there and there is always the mentor program, that will give you a one on one with someone who will help you make the switch.

Aw, poor Zool! I can only imagine a diet that would rot his teeth away...the things people feed their pets. I am glad you are switching to raw and we would love to see pictures of your gang! Read around the feeding and nutrition section and feel free to ask any questions. We also have a great mentor program to guide you through the switch too!
