Hey guys,
Little about myself. My name is Jess, I am 19 and live in Ottawa, Ontario. I have 1 dog (BC/GSD mix) and 3 ferrets. I am an avid member of the ferret rescue here, and am currently the treasurer for them.
All my ferrets are rescues, not one has been bought from a pet store, and I will never buy one from a pet store. I refuse to give money to Marshall's breeding program.
First, I have Rascal. He is 6 years old, and I got him 4 years ago, as a rehome. He has both Insulinoma and Adrenal Gland Disease, he is being treated with Diazoxide for Insulinoma (I refuse to give him Pred) and is currently untreated for AGD, but will soon be getting Lupron shots. His has very weird colouring, it is sort of a very light sable, roan, and cinnamon colouring. He is somewhat picky about treats and what he will eat.
Next, I have Renegade. He came with his "brother" Rogue back in February, but Rogue was euthanized at the end of May due to extreme health issues. They came to me, again, through rehome. I was looking for ONE more ferret, and was given the okay for one more, but I could not pass these 2 up (I had met them before at rescue events) Renegade is 3 1/2 years old, and is a sable. He is healthy and will pretty much eat anything.
Finally, I have Harley. I got her from the rescue, a few days after Rogue was euthanized. I knew I needed to get a third ferret, and the opportunity just arised at the right time. She is nearly 3 years old, and is a dark sable. She is healthy, but only has half a tail due to amputation while at the rescue for a ruptured "tumor" (turned out to just be excess bone). She is my love bug, and the only one who LOVES the human interaction. She is extremely picky about what she eats.
They are all fed EVO ferret, and Rascal is given baby food as a supplement to get some weight on him. They will all eat baby food (this is a new development for Harley), but do not seem to want to eat meat, no matter how much I want to at least supplement them with raw. Renegade will eat raw meat if I dehydrate it, but he is the only one.
