Over the last 24 hours Mr. Bean has been doing some weird things with his water bowl.
He's been scratching at it, getting his paws wet. Then he licks his paws. I have not seen him drink drink any water in the past 24 hours either.
Any suggestions as to why he is doing this?

One of mine does that. Some ferrets like to play in water even if they don't like to swim in it. He probably just recently discovered that the water bowl is fun to play in He eats raw soupies I believe? Raw foods have a high water content. Mine are all raw fed and none of them drink much water. Even the dog only drinks if he's been running around and I rarely see the cat and ferrets drink.

He's playing And he's fascinated that he can lick water from his paws. I've got two cats who do the same thing, as well as a couple of ferrets!

Koda thinks that splashing the water out of his dish is the greatest thing ever! He will lay in the shelf cover, under the shelf above the water dish and use his teeth the pull the water dish up, and drop it (it is a lock crock from walmart and has a hinge to allow it to fold flat, upwards...for storage I guess... Anyways, he lets it drop, and bites the water out of the air as it splashes up towards him! OR he will lay underneath it and kick up to splash it out onto the floor of the cage for him to drink. Little turd!
