Yup, they should be able to eat the bones just fine Bear in mind you will have to work them up to bones. It takes practice, but with patience they should get it.

Yep Walmart CGH is the best deal all around - besides being least expensive they are also ALL Natural with NO broth, solution or enhancement! SOmetimes I've found a neck with them, but no other "giblets". I too buy gizzards, hearts, livers for feeding. My guys all go nuts over these Special treats! Faylene if she had her way would eat nothing BUT gizzards and hearts!
Cheers, Kim

If I cut the meat off the bones and feed that to them first will I be able to keep it in the freezer? Or would they prefer to eat bone in meat once they get there? Because nowadays it is cheaper to buy bone in meat. (even though I could have bought a whole live chicken for this price and killed it myself or bought a freshly butchered chicken Silly me. Oh well at least they get to be really really spoiled when I start them on meat.

Oh well at least they get to be really really spoiled when I start them on meat. You want to leave the bone in the meat to stay as close as possible to whole meat/prey. That way they get the most benefit from tearing, chewing and bone crunching. It helps clean their teeth, strengthens jaw muscles, and simply provides enrichment. My little furbrats are spoiled so they won't eat a whole CGH unless I chunk it although whole is ideal. Mine seem to prefer "mouse sized" pieces.

I don't give mine a whole CGH - I section it, this gives them several meals and me one if I choose.
2 -Wingetts, 2- drummetts, 2- Drumsticks 2- Thighs 2 rib slabs 4 pieces bone in back, 4 pieces breast with sternum ( or not, if I choose to eat the breast). ----- 18 pieces or 3 meals for the entire business from one CGH!
I use poultry shears to hack them to pieces.
Cheers, Kim

I find mine can eat more of the CGH bones than regular chickens.
