I`m having trouble tracking down bone meal, at a decent price. Pet stores don't carry, local health store has 1lb for 16$ I found on line, in the US.. 5 lbs for 17$ but the shipping to Canada, Ontario is $35! Any suggestions on where else i can look or call to find this? or a good substitute?

Sometimes, depending on your butcher you can get raw bone meal from them. It usually sells cheap. Cheapest....get your little ones to eat bone. You can use egg shell too. Half tsp to 8 oz of meat. I just bought some bone meal the other day, it's expensive but you do what you have to. It's much cheaper in the US but shipping will kill you, if they don't confiscate it at the border when it goes through customs. They're edgy about that kind of stuff . ciao

goat and lamb bones are too dense for them to eat, chicken bones they can eat, it's good to start them off with.

Generally the bones they can eat are chicken, rabbit, turkey necks, ribs, and wing tips, same with duck, whole prey. No weight bearing bones, as these get too dense. Some are able to handle tail bones from pigs/cattle, but again, sometimes these are also too dense.
