My ferret Percy is currently on a diet of raw chicken and kibble. He gets a little bit of raw chicken fed in the correct ratios of bone/organ/meat every day and has constant access to his kibble. He loves to eat his raw more then his kibble I've found a raw food provider and since I want to get him solely on raw.. I was wondering which two other protein types would be best for him. I can choose from: Beef Turkey Duck Pork Rabbit Buffalo Lamb Salmon Heads Mackeral Thanks

Duck and rabbit are a favorite of my boys. lamb and beef both go un-eaten

i'm sure some of the pros will come on here and give you their opinions, but i think that the more variety your fuzzy will eat the better. They recommend three as a minimum, and i'm sure they can give you some specific nutritional differences between them, but hey... if they'll eat it, give em the variety. I wish I could feed my little one beef, but alas... she has a beef alergy and vomits if anything beef even touches her tongue... even commercial freeze dried that has beef.

Try to pick more red meats, they have more nutrition in them. I would get
Beef, Pork, Rabbit, Buffalo, Lamb
Secondly I would get
Turkey Duck Salmon Heads Mackeral
I like fish as whole prey because it's easy. White meat is great for bone content. (but I guess a lot of ferrets are lazy and don't eat bone.. mines a fatty I guess, he chows down on bone like no tomorrow =] )

duck has lots of fat content so if you have a skinny one duck is good for getting on some fat.

Frankly- any and all of the above. The more variety you can give, the better. Both nutritionally, and just for their own tastes. I find mine start to refuse any meat they think they may have had too much of.

I didn't know they could eat fish... When you say it offers a lot of bone, do you mean they can eat the fish bone?

As long as it's raw, certainly

I always grab mackeral and whole tilapia when it is on sale, and cut it up for the ferrets. They love it. Then again, I own two fat faces who have eaten just about everything I've put in front of them. XD
