Hello, i'm not sure if anyone has already posted about this but I was just wondering if there are any natural flea killers/repellents that can be used on ferrets.
They have picked fleas up from playing with my two cats- i used a flea comb and got rid of the few that they had but i wondered if there was anything that i can use to repel the fleas from both my ferrets and cats without using harsh chemicals like front-line.
Another thing.. i bought a natural ferret shampoo which contains lavender oil, is this safe to use of my furbabies?
Thankyou
Claire.

I would try to avoid using any shampoo that has any EO's in it. I just did a lot of cleaning and washing. The guys were combed out everynight. I used a small glass of water and soap to dip the comb in every time there was a flea found (kills the fleas on contact). I also used DE along the baseboards. ciao

Excellent thanks.
I'm assuming you use food grade DE? have you ever given to you ferrets/ or used on your ferrets?? I know it's suppose to be safe for cats/dogs.

I only use it around mouldings and edgings. I know that some believe in feeding it but I don't. It has no use internally for fleas (some think it works for worming) I don't use it on them because it is dangerous if inhaled. Ferrets have enough respiratory issues without me adding to them ciao

I second the DE! I've used it on my dog (and fosters), I don't use it *directly* on my ferrets, but I've never needed to It works by keeping the fleas away from the area the ferrets are in Which is awesome!
