I'm trying to decide which, if any, vaccinations to get the kitten. He's about 11 weeks old. I've looked up common jabs for cats and noticed that there is usually a cocktail but I've been told it isn't a good idea to get multiple shots at once. If he was going to be strictly an indoor cat without any outside contact I would probably just skip vaccinations altogether. But I'm planning to let him play in the ferret's outdoor enclosure and harness train him so he can go outside under supervision. So I was just wondering what you knowledgeable people would recommend. Which vaccinations would it be wise to get and should I do boosters? I'm thinking rabies would be a good idea because he could come into contact with rabid wild animals but how often should I booster? And what age should the initial vaccination be given? I've heard that many animals get them too young. Sorry for all the questions, any info would be greatly appreciated

the only shots that my cats have gotten was rabies and that was required when they went in to be spayed and nutered...they did have what ever shots that were given by the rescues that they came from, but since then they haven't gotten anything shot wise... my cats are strictly indoor...

I don't vaccinate, anything.....my one cat was 22 and hadn't had a vaccine since he was 2. Considering the restricted outdoor access, personally I don't think there is much of a danger but that's just me You will have to do your research and decide what you're comfortable with ciao

All of mine had their kitten shots, one year booster, and that was it. Mine are indoor cats also, but the two oldest go out into the yard, under strict supervision(high fenced yard, and we are outside with them)

Yeah as much as I'd like to skip shots altogether I'm too paranoid he'll pick something up. The initial kitten shots and then a booster a year later sounds fair. What age is best for the kitten shots?

It's been a lot of years, but to the best of my recollection, it was 2 months, 4 months, and 6 months. With the booster at one year.
