Can I get a drum roll please!!!! I cut up some chicken gizzards into bite size peices and sprinkled them with crush kibble. They loved it!!! They ate so fast I was un able to take pictures of them while I was cutting up the rest of the meat I'm going to give them some fresh meat in a bit so when they start biting I'll start snapping. How awesome is that!? Thanks giuli I'm heading over to the link now and looking at what you pm'd me Hubby started to ask me some questions and he's very pleased about the prices compared to kibble. Thats two happy people and two belly full ferts hehe

Okay they just helped themselves to some more gizzards with no kibble on it. I'm going to give them some thigh meat that I have defrosting in about 3 hours.
Should I sprinkle a pinch of crushed eggshell on their thigh meat later? Should I try wingettes this week? I want to make sure they get their calcium.

Honestly, I would just try them on the wingettes. I bet that they will chew them to shreds since they are babies (and they are probably teething). If they eat the wingettes, congrats! You've officially got raw fed ferrets! Once they eat meat/bone/organ you can start their "big boy menu" of raw foods!

Ladies and gentlemen...we have meat eaters!! No more kibble! lol These guys are doing great! Pocus has the biggest appetite. He's torn through a wingette and has left nothing but the bone. Hocus nibbles. He ate the gizzards very well, but the wingette he's just nibbling on. I just cut up some chicken thigh and who dove right in? Pocus lol this little guy is making up for "runt" size.

1. To keep them from eating in the litter box you can put a "feeding box" in their cage. A place for them to hide and eat thier meat. You can even use a paper bag! Thats what I do!
2. When he leaves the bone, dont take it away, leave him with the bone, eventually they will start chewing on it (which is good because bone is an important part of the diet).
3. Congrats! I KNEW they'd be a breeze to switch.

I left them the bone, but how long can I leave the wingette? Its been there for a few hours now. I just gave them some fresh thigh meat about 30 mins ago to. Can that be left over nigt? Hocus is a night eater.

The wingettes can be out for 24 hours, but I doubt they'll last that long. Overnight I would leave them with some meat, but I would primarily let them have the bone (atleast tonight) this will motivate them to try the bone.
