Good luck and we are here to help, Meli (that kibble really does smell, doesnt it? Ugh! smells soooo much worse then fresh raw meat or even whole prey. Both have almost NO smell). Save the wingettes and the livers (put them in the freezer) its definitly good that you got those, but you want to start your guys on boneless meat first. You can start with the gizzards (cut up into kibble sized pieces) or you can buy raw chicken breast and do that. You have SUCH young babys that I am not going to recommend the "soup method' of the transition. Just fast them for like 6-8 hours (they are babies and eat more often then an adult, so try the 6-8 hour fast BEFORE you try the 12 hour fast). Give them some cut up raw chicken (breast or gizzards) and dust it with finely crushed kibble. They SHOULD give it a few sniffs, then a lick, then gobble it down. If they arent switched to bone-in meat within 3 days, I will honestly be shocked. Getting them used to the freezedried is a great idea. I personally dont have any experience with freeze-dried but I know that Toby's Mindy and Mustelidmusk do, so you might want to PM them about it if you have questions. Good luck and congrats on getting ready to switch! Good by stinky kibble, hello big, beautiful babies! They will get such nice muscle tone and soft fur. When they are adults you will really see a difference between them and ferrets that were raised on kibble. The raw babies are so much more robust, bright eyed, energetic, and less stinky with pearly white teeth

Today I put some organic chicken broth on their kibble. Pocus loves it, but hocus just sniffed, shook his head and wobbled away. I honestly can not believe how horrible zupreem smells. Its driving me crazy!!! I've had cats before and they're food NEVER smelled this bad. Their poop has no odor! I can't smell a thing, but this food uggg..giuli its just so horrible lol Okay then gizzards and chicken breast monday. I have a stockpile of boneless chicken breats and tenders which has been in my freezer for a while now. So I'll start defrosting some breasts for monday and leave my gizzards in the frigde to seperate and freeze in palm size servings. The freeze dried would be such an awesome alternative for when I'm away for vacation and other reasons that are not in the horizon. I bought these guys nbones which they like. I'm going to get them some chicken jerky (freeze dried) I saw in petsmarts today. They have such an awesome variety. Duck, chicken, lamb, and beef. Once I get them accustomed to raw.

Thats good that you added the broth, Im gald that Pocus likes it! Give Hocus some time, he'll come around. They look soooo young, you are lucky because its the super young ones that take virtually no effort to switch lol. You are going to make Quill and Jaycee jealous (heres hoping they dont hunt you down with pitchforks lol! )

The best part about me doing this now, is when I get my final ferret (when my husband decides it is better to give in than to listen to my constant pleading) it should be easier for me to transition the 1 as opposed to all 7 of mine I am trying to transition now. Don't worry about the pitchforks, though. I don't have one anyway! ...........I'll be going shopping tomorrow, however!!

When you get your final ferret, all you have to do is "throw him in with the lions". If you put him in a cage with raw food and 7 raw fed ferrets, he'll learn pretty quick how to eat natural foods! Its SOOO much easier when you have a crew of ferrets to "teach" your new ferret how to eat right!
