Hello I'm new to these forums, I post on the ferret.com forums from time to time and I thought I'd come on over here and post because I'm attempting to switch my ferrets over to some raw foods! I'm 26 years old, I live in Tell City Indiana, I'm currently a first semester nursing student and I work at a local hospital. I don't have any kids other than the furry four legged kind. I have 7 ferrets, 4 cats, 3 dogs (quite the houseful!) All of my ferrets except for 1 are less than a year old. I have 3 boys and 4 girls! Girls are Anks, Vaeda, Zoey, Sasha. Boys are Hannible, Gizmo, Auggie. We are thinking Auggie has Adrenal Disease, he was a rescue and he has a vet appointment in a couple of weeks so we can get him started on some kind of treatment. From the left is Anks, Zoey, Hannible, Gizmo and Auggie is kind of inbetween Giz and Hannible. This is Vaeda and last but not least, Sasha So far i've managed to get my kids to eat soupies laced with ground turkey, chicken livers, hearts and gizzards.. as long as everything is cut up into small pieces. I put raw eggs, kibble and baby food in their soupies as well. I'm hoping to eventually get their soupies 100% raw and maybe leave kibble out at night for them. I don't think I can do live food, or feed them frozen critters.. so hopefully I can get them on the next best thing! So I'm here to learn how to do that

Hi and welcome to the forum Sounds like you're well on your way to getting them to eat a more natural diet. Please feel free to prowl, ask questions and check out the various threads. You may want to perhaps take a closer look at the nutritional section of the forum. You don't have to feed prey, live or frozen to reap the benefits of a natural diet and you don't have to feed kibbles either. I've not fed kibble in over 11 yrs. I do feed prey, but that's only because I can. Many here cannot and will not feed prey, they make use of either commercial mixes and or frankenprey. It's really simple and your little ones are young (and adorable I might add ) I wish you luck with Auggie, we've had a number of discussions regarding adrenal treatments and the pros and cons of the various methods. Jennifer is at the moment writing up a thread that deals entirely with her experiences while using some of the alternative methods of treating this disease. Please, make yourself at home, everyone is friendly. Good luck and happy switching ciao

I look forwards to seeing you around the forums and feel free to browse around in the feeding section for info on raw feeding, and even sign up for the mentor program that we have here!
