Ok, I know this question has been asked and answered several times, but I will ask it again. Whole bone in meat can sit out 24 hours. Is this time frame the same for the bone after the meat is eaten, or can the bone sit out longer before going bad. Also, it would be nice to have a simple table or chart with these time frames, starting with dry kibble, wet kibble....all the wat to whole prey.

Hmmm good suggestion about the time table chart! Will do! Thanks! I'll add that to the upcoming HF website.
In the mean time here you go, these are just estimates, I'll get a more accurate list when I make the chart for the HF site. Just follow these for now and you should be fine
Wet Kibble: 4-8 hours (depending on the temp) Ground meat: 12 hours or less (depending on the temp) Meat chunks: 16 hours or so (depending on the temp) Bone-in meat: 24 hours or less (depending on the temp) Whole prey: 24 hours (if the prey has been ripped open) 36 hours if the prey has been untouched.

Ok, but what about the bones. After the meat is eaten. Do the bones need to be tossed after 24 hours of placement in the ferret cage (back when the meat was still attached?) Does this make sence??? Probably not. I think sometimes only I can maybe understand me!

Ah, sorry!
With bones I would basically judge it like this. Once they dry up, its time to pitch them. Depending on the temp and humidity levels in your home, the exact time will differ. If the bone is still slimy and moist this is good. Dryed out bones should be removed. To prolong the "slimeyness" of the bones, rinse them in warm water, pat dry, and stick them in the fridge. Discard all bones (slimy or not) after 24 hours.
