I just wanted to take this time to introduce ourselves. My name is Stephanie and ihave had ferrets for about 8 years now. I currently only have one ferret but she has 4 feline friends to play with. My ferrets name in Baby. I have had ferrets with some health issues but nothing really serous except for one that had adrenal and we put her to sleep (rip rascal). I am currently a student in an animal care program and through the program have became interested in feeding my ferret whole prey to help her get the best nutrition she can get. She is arround the 6 month marker so i know this can make it harder to switch her.
How do i get started? do i jump straight into raw chicken and mice or is there a smaller baby step system?

Hi and welcome to you Stephanie and Baby Please feel free to prowl the various sections of the site, read threads, ask questions. Everyone's friendly. You may want to pay particular attention to the nutritional section. There's a section on prey, beginners questions...tons of information If you're interested in one on one instructions and think you can stick it out, there's the mentoring program available where you get to work one on one with one of the online mentors. Your little one is under 9 months of age which is when the supposed fixation on taste and texture occurs, so you may still have a fairly easy time of it Good luck and I hope that I will be seeing you around. ciao
