I was just wondering,do any of you leave some toys in your ferret's cage? I cant have my boys out allthe time (during work or running errends-mainly errands cause im unemployed ) so i was wondering if there was any cheap toys i could get them so they can play in their cage? or even outside the cage but safe without supervision? i let my ferrets loose in the bathroom upstairs during the day (so my dog doesnt eat them...lol) but they go to sleep as soon as i stop playing with them lol.i figure with some toys they'll be able to entertain themselves

Yup. Since I am gone most of the day, and Koda is an only fert, I leave toys with him 24/7. He has toys in and out of his cage. As well as in my car (for his carrier) and Shane;s house... (*looks around* Me? Spoil my ferret? NEVER! ) I try to only leave hard plastic toys in his cage as Koda likes to chew things. If your ferrets are not big chewers, most toys would be ok as longs as you regularly checked them VERY THOROUGHLY for any damage, pieces missing, etc. Small stuffies work great (look for ones without hard plastic eyes or noses as those can be chewed off), as well as baby toys. I use rattles, I wash (over and over) empty pill bottles and fill them with different things to make different noises, then there are various balls, plastic baby links (you can clip these to the cage top and hang things with them too as a type of in-case teaser lol) - just be sure they can't get heir heads stuck in the links! Koda does have a few hard rubber toys, but since his rubber eating incident, I don't really leave those in the cage with him. Check out Value Village, Salvation Army, or Thrift Stores for use baby toys. Be sure to wash them all really well first though! Hope that helps!

Please remember that if you're using baby toys that a lot of human baby toys are made of plastic and soft chewable plastic. This material is like a drug to ferrets and they will chew it, destroy it and ingest it. This can be fatal so just remember that because it's skin-kid safe doesn't make it fur-kid safe ciao

I guess I meant more like the older, hard-plastic baby toys. lol Like the links and Little People and stuff.
