I have had the hardest time finding something for Badger to get interested in and I have and they are only .47 cents at the pet store! We just got a new Pet Supermarket (with adorable baby Marshalls for sale ) and I went in there to get some Duk soup ($2 cheaper than at PetCo). I saw these little balls made out of fur and died different colors so I thought I would get a few, and she loves them. She just runs around carrying it in her mouth and it's really cute!! Also that had a fur mouse about the size of a tennis ball with a rattle inside, so I decided to try it and it was definitely a hit. They all play tug-o-war with it and shake it. I took off the nose and eyes because I knew they wouldn't last long anyway. I thing my babies would be really good hunters!

Isn't it wonderful when you finally find that toy that keeps them happy. They take such innocent pleasure in totally destroying it ciao

I know the type of toy you are talking about! I had 3 of them for my cats(before ferrets) When my one husky started getting older, and a bit senile, she decided they were her "babies". She'd sit there grooming them, lined up between her paws. When it came time for her to go outside, or to eat, she'd actually become frantic about them. So...I'd pick them up, and set them on the sofa beside me very gently, she'd check them out, and then go and do whatever she needed to do , then come rushing back into the living room, check them out, give me a kiss, and line up all her "babies" again. She finally groomed them to death, and forgot about them

I think I know what toys you are talking about. I just bought a bunch of those for Koda to stash, and the rattle mouse I have had for a while. I am pretty sure that the rattle mouse is his favorite toy. The balls he really likes too. We throw them at him and he goes nuts attacking them, then tries to run off and stash them before we can catch him.

Sherrylynne-- Hahaha that's sad! I had a cat that did that! It was weird because she would make weird noises at them and carry them around the house in her mouth. lol.
I need to go get more of the furry balls! I wanna get a big handful and throw them at them. Ferrets are more fun than humans I think.

Hahaha, I told my boyfriend if ferrets could talk (English, not dookish) that I probably wouldn't have a need for any friends at all. Lol, the sad part is that I am 100% serious.

that would be the coolest if they could talk....then someone here at the house *might* actually listen and care about what I say

this got me thinking.... when my mil culls rabbits for orders and skins them, I could probably clean the skins and make them into toys? I realize there would be some type of drying process to preserve the skins themselves but....what do ya'll think? She breeds New Zelands and Flemish so there is a lot of skins that she's just tossing as she just doesn't have the time to do anything with them....

I'm sure you could learn about how to dry or preserve skins. Seems to me like a good idea bc 1) I love making my own stuff and 2) it seems like a waste if they are just thrown out. Lemme know how it goes...you could do all sorts of stuff! Idk why but mine just love anything made of real fur. I guess they feel like true hunters.
Sherrylynne-- I know what you mean, I think sometimes mine may not have the nicest things to say.

If I remember correctly, it's tannic acid that will preserve the skin. However, cleaning it is a....let's just say a "messy" procedure(my first hubby was a trapper)
