I did a bath tonight for Bandit and Mischief. I used about 2 inches of warm water in the bathtub, and set them in it one at a time, and they both seemed okay with it. I didn't use any soap, I was mostly just trying to get the dried poo off of Bandit's hiney. We spent maybe 5 minutes in there. They did great! I have one of those real sturdy pop up dog crates, the top zippers open. I put towels in the bottom, then lifted them out one at a time into a folded towel, and let them wiggle themselves free (drying at the same time) and put them in the crate. They were dry in no time! Then we clipped nails, mostly. Bandit is so laid back, it was great, I got them all, no problem. Mischief was bouncing and squirming and wiggling all over the place. She scratched the bleep out of me and I only got 3 of her feet done. I'll do the last one in a bit. Over all, I would say it went well.

Haha, with mine it is more like "well, I got 3 toes on this foot, two on that one, four on this paw, and....no wait....was it 3 on this foot and two on that one???" That probably made no sence...but....it is like my house here....confusing!!!

I have had 3 years of practice with suggie nails, which are a lot harder to see. I've probably clipped 10, 000 nails in the last 3 years, considering I do 240 or so at a time (nails not animals)!
I was more suprised at the bath. I expected them to have a fit.

Below is a REAL easy way to clip ferret toenails. I've been doing this for over 10 years and haven't had it fail me yet!
I put a pillow on my lap, lay the baby on the pillow (feet/tail at my knees, head closest to my belly), squirt a generous little puddle of flaxseed oil (or salmon oil) on their belly, clip away while he/she is distracted licking up goodies:) The 1st time you do it, expect a little bit of a freak-out because you are putting some cold and wet on their tummy. Gently hold and direct nose toward goodies then clip away once they're licking it up. I haven't had this method fail me yet. Now mind you, for hairless babies (adrenals), you may need to keep applying the oil as it is licked up.
