So i got a great big meat order from Kathy the other day and I was portioning everything out when I remembered that the ferrets don't really take to the pork or rabbit as much as the other stuff. Plus that gets the smelliest the fastest. I sometimes add duck to their meals and they always gobble that up first, so what would be a good way to get them to eat pork/rabbit while masking the flavor? I know! Mix everything together. so thats what I did. i mixed 1 lb of rabbit, pork, chicken and KSM (1/3lb each of tripe, beef and chicken feet, respectively) and 1/2lb of duck. I formed them into 2 oz meat balls and pushed a chicken heart into the top of each one. totally made with love while being well balanced! Now I just need to feed 3 meatballs a day and they will be getting everything they need- muscle meat, organs, taurine and bone. fool proof and a lot cheaper! For those 4.5 lbs of meat I paid less than $10 and it made enough to feed them for about 9 days. WHoo! Attachments:

How have they taken to it so far? Hopefully it went well! I can't wait to start my little spazies on raw! This would be a great way to get everything they need into them so they don't pick it all apart

Any bone you can grind up would be a good substitute. If you've got a grinder that will handle thigh bone, then great! As for blending the meats? Just the meat, bone, and organ.

yep, they are definitely loving the meaty balls. it is so quick and easy, too! grab one from the freezer, defrost for 1:30, flip, defrost for :30 and you're good to go! once the plate is empty, I do it all over again. in an average day they eat between 4-8 oz.
