I have been reading and browsing around as I´m planning on going all Barf ,except with my male ,he´s in the process og switching. As a start ,I´m going to go for this : 75 % musclemeat, 15 % bone and 10 % organs.Of course looking out for their poohs to check if I need to adjust anything in their diet. I´m going for 4 days meat and bone ,2 days of muscle meat and one day organ where I will add some meat/bone The mix will be of various kind like : beefheart ,liver, tripe, kidney, chickennecks, turkeynecks, reindeer, deer, lamb, turkeymeat, beef neck ,beef jaw, herring and horse. Besides that I´m feeding whole prey like mice, rats and hams. Once a week I´ll add egg . As supplement they´ll get sandeel oil which has no added vitamin A ,D or E and has no added preservatives. They will also get Bonemeal and taurin. Does that sound okey or are there anything I should change or be aware of ? Thanks Oh and a question...When you add bonemeal is it then necessary to add Vitamin D for them to absorb the bonemeal ? I know you should when it's a synthetic calcium product.

That actually looks really good! You've got more than enough variety there. I wouldn't worry about adding the "D". The bonemeal is fine for them, since it's an animal based product, which they should digest with no problems. Now- if only you can get them eating all of it Yes- I've got spoiled brats

I will be interested in seeing your success at getting your little ones to eat tripe (your diet looks great). My guys think that green tripe is disgusting. They really don't understand what the dog is so upset about when they come over to sniff his dinner I've a couple of little ones who go instantly poofy tailed when they stick their noses into the dog's bowl of tripe, they then bounce out of the way gagging. ciao

Thanks both of you.I´m glad I got it right So far they have been eating everything I give them.Including the tribe But I knew that about the tribe already cause it has been a part of their semi Barf from day one. Now I just need to convince my male that he has to eat his bones....jeez he´s stubborn .He eats everything else,so switching him from all kibble to full Barf was a lot easier than expected YAY ,so now I´m going to try and cut it up in tiny pieces and se if he will eat it that way.In the mean time I´m giving him bonemeal as a substitute to make sure he gets enough Calcuim etc.

Only way I got mine eating the bone- giving them chicken wings for 3 days in a row. They ate or were hungry And since they loved chicken- they ate! I did have to segment the wings, cut the middle section between the two bones, and cut the drumette in half lengthwise, but it worked! Don't forget, though- they have to have eaten chunks for a while to help build up their jaw strength enough to tackle the bones! Kind of like sitting at a chair all day in an office, then going out and trying to lift weights- it just doesn't work!
