Not sure how this would go but...Here it is Name's Oragami (or Kara...but Oragami is my 'online name'), and i've been in love with ferrets for...7 years or so? I haven't actually had regular contact with one until about 2 years ago when my mom got 2. One died though But I plan on getting a ferret of my own soon, and after a post on the ferret.com forums, i thought about the raw diet and after the suggestion of a member there, joined this forum I'm not sure how well the 'switch' from the kibble the ferret i get will go, but it certainly won't hurt giving it a try ^^

Hi and welcome to the forum The ease of the switch depends entirely on the age and the attitude of the ferret. Baby ferts switch easy...they're just fur and teeth with a big empty tummy that has to be filled After about 9 months depending on the ferret things become complicated but don't be down....it can be done I would suggest that you read through our nutritional section and even go into the mentoring section and check out the various threads there (you can't post in the mentoring threads but you can read). It will give you an idea as to what some have tried are trying what has worked for some but that same method might not work for another. The switch is all about trial and error. The real easy one is to go out and hook in with a breeder who already feeds raw and buy one of their little ones. Truthfully, with patience any ferret will change their attitude toward their food but it does take a time commitment from you. Go ahead, make yourself at home, read threads, post questions and have fun learning. ciao
