Anyway, hello! I'm Hales (haley), I came from the ferret.com forum. Some of you may know me a little, but I lurk more than I post

I'll tell you a bit about me...

I'm 20 years old and am currently attending Michigan State University, waiting to apply to the Vet Tech program here. I work at an animal hospital, but we only deal with dogs and cats (boo!), but as a vet tech I would love to work with exotics.
My current hobby is taking pictures...of everything and anything.
I live with my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years who works nights at a retirement community, so he doesn't have time to join these forums.

We are the proud parents of 3 gorgeous fuzzies

This is Rikki Tikki Tavi. He was our first ferret (we acquired him in July of '07). He just recently turned 2.


This is Luna Estrellada Wellington. She's (approx.) 3 years old now, but we have no idea as we rescued her from a woman who was not educated on the care of ferrets and didn't have papers on her.



And lastly, we have Molly Moncher Monohan. Molly is absolutely insane. She's also deaf. And she's also adorable. Molly is 1 year and 2 months old....and she's quite the hyper little girl.





I just recently started reading posts on the ferret.com forum by Giuliana, and it got me interested in making my fuzzies healthier.
I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on here with the progress they're making and all that jazz.

I hope you enjoy yourself here! We have alot of friendly people, and several talented "Holistic Ferret Mentors" (special members that are here to help newbies).

I myself am a pre-vet student I was thinking about being a vet tech, but I decided to do the vet thing instead (whoo hoo only.....lets see....7 more years to go until I am a practicing vet! lol). Like you I am also 20 years old (well almost, lol I turn 20 Sept 1st). I also have 3 ferrets, just like you! Its cool, seems like we have alot in common!

I hope you enjoy your time here, and I look forward to seeing you on here more. If you have any questions feel free to post them in the "newbie questions" part of the nutrition section. When you are ready to begin the switch to a natural diet, post a thread where you will make updates on your babies progress in the "Natural Diet Newbies" section. This way we can closely moniter your progress and help you to succeed!

BTW- Your babies are adorable! and your picture-taking-skills rock! I LOVE that last pic!

How on earth do you shout their names out! I have a hard enough time with one or two syllable words! Those guys have long names. I guess you could just shout "Hey you" and "stop that!"

Hahah well, for Molly..it doesn't matter-she's deaf.

But for Rikki, we just say "Rik" or "Rikki" and he comes running (well, prancing. He's our prancer.)

And Luna will come to her or Rikki's name.

But I have nicknames for them all as well.


Molly is crazyface.

Luna is snaggletooth.

And Rikki is Littlefoot.

Well, still. Those are quite long names! As for me, I yell "HEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYY" or "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" to mine. They don't listen. They look up, blink once, and then head back to whatever they were doing. Sometimes I think they are worse than kids. All the time I know they are worse than husbands!

Is it just me or are the majority of us all 20? It seems liek a common age for fert lovers here. Your babes are all so sweet. That Molly girl she is a nut. I have a doggy named Molly.

Not the majority, but a fair amount. There are more "20 year old ferrents" on here then on most other forums. FINALLY people my age that love ferts as much as me! Too bad we don't live in the same place....

I you Heather! Don't feel old! With age comes wisdom! You've got 10+ years of raw experience! I dunno what I would do without you! If you were twenty you'd have to have started feeding at 10 to have that experience....okay I am rambling and this is just getting weird lol You get what I am saying.
