Hey~ I thought I'd try to get my monsters to have a taste for raw meat.. although I don't think I'm up to the challenge of feeding them completely raw, a chicken wing or some organ meat seems like a wonderful treat once or twice a week, if they'd actually eat it. ( Or will it just upset them to have something interrupting their kibble lifestyle?) Anyway.. I made a soup with a boneless chicken breast, a sprinkling of crushed eggshell, and maybe half a cup of water (since I didn't have anything else on hand).. and they ate some with minimal revulsion. I read advice to freeze the leftovers in an icecube tray for convenient servings later.. but I'm not sure how you're suppose to thaw it back out, haha. I'm squeamish with raw meat and rarely buy any to cook for myself, so I don't feel like I know how to handle it properly. Put a chicken icecube in their bowl and let it thaw in the fridge overnight? Nuke it for 30 seconds? Put it out on the counter until it's mushy? Give it to them frozen? Thanks guys~

Any and all of the above Actually, if you are going to nuke it(and some do prefer the chill to be off), just do it in 5-7 second bursts, and be sure to stir it well following each, as you don't want "hot spots" to form.

We make soupies and feed in the evenings, so when I go get their dinner started, I put another batch of soupies in the fridge to thaw. I use the little 4 oz. disposeable gladware tupperware. It's not open to air like the ice cube tray, it's small enough to thaw easily overnight, and if I break one I can just toss it.

I often put cubes right in their bowl to thaw. They love meatsicles! I usually have something else that's already thawed in there so they can snack until it's warm enough to eat.

My stile (If I had one) is to just boil it for 30 seconts and put both the meat and water right into their bowls.

The problem with that, Aaron, is that it would be mush on the outside, and still frozen on the inside!
