We have a very small ant problem in the main room our ferret plays in. So far there have just been scouts (only two or three at a time) but it has been consistent all week. We have been mopping to cover the trail and doing research on natural barriers to put down. Many sites talk about putting down baby powder, cinnamon, or vinegar as a deterrent- but is always out in this room and would get her nose in it! Switching her to another room is not an option- we have an open floor plan. Is there anything we can use that others have had success with?!? Any advice would help.

Ants eat, and fill 2 stomics, 1 for them, 1 for their team mates. And one of them might be the queen! Give out poison that looks like food, and they will share that! But their is a chance that they will have a hand full of immune survivors. Ps. The only thing that makes ants happy is hard work, I hope their not carpenters!

I've heard baking soda works wonders with them(and it's non-toxic for the ferrets). It's supposed to react to the formic acid in their bodies. Also, can you figure out where they're coming in? If it's a window, you could put ant traps on the outside, if you can. Even if you have to tape it in place.
