I am trying to get my ferrets used to more raw foods. I got them a few weeks ago, but they are 2 years old so I know the switch will be quite long and hard lol. I scrambled up some raw egg and put it in a bowl. They aren't used to the texture, but they eat it somewhat out of a spoon. I added some of their kibble and one of them eats a piece here and there, but the other one just sniffs it. I want to leave it in their cage a bit to get them a little used to it. I have taken out the plain kibble and just put the mixture in there. I was wondering how long I can leave it in there? I know they won't eat it all. This is just an introduction. But I would like them to get a little hungry and eat it. Thanks in advance! =)

My kits have had an active day and it's around their nap time so I put them to bed. Of course they're hungry after all that play! And Biggy, the ferret who wouldn't touch the mixture, is chomping it up! =). I would still like to know how long I can leave it in their house?

If it's bad, or too mucky, generally they won't touch it Not that mine leave it sitting around! I'd say if it starts to get a coating on it, toss it. That would normally only take a couple of hours.
