I just wanted to put it out there that pumpkin is just about the greatest thing ever. Cassi has been on her raw soupy for a couple months now, and although we're having trouble making the jump to RMB and such, i'm very happy that she is doing so well on the raw, and she gets a variety of meats mixed into her soupy. But i have noticed that she seemed to have more loose poopy than I expected.
Pumpkin rocks my socks. Adding around a tbs of pumpkin to her 6 oz batches that take about three days for her to eat, has greatly reduced the messy sloppy poops. Hurray for roughage!!

I don't want to hijack, but can pumpkin be a part of their regular diet?

Not hyjacked I do.....actually I switch between pumpkin, squash and some veggie greens. It's not very much but I have an IBD fert and this seems to slow down his digestion just enough to allow him to absorb the nutrients of his diet. Now I did notice that the greens in this mix did not settle his tummy as well so I'm back to the pumpkin. Consider it this way....you would feed prey, you have fur and a few other indigestibles that help slow the process a bit and help feed the gut bacteria. If you're feeding frankenprey, you don't have this...so you feed trace veggies to create this process . ciao

Ok so adding a little pumpkin to the soup should help during the transition?
I plan to eventually have them on whole mice, rats, chicks and quail. Maybe even rabbits and guinea pigs all from rodentpro.
