1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets? I have been exploring many forums as well as reading a few books on ferrets, all of which mention the natural diets for ferrets. On another forum I am a part of, a few of the members speak very highly of the natural diets, so I think it would be worth trying. Also, I adopted one of my ferrets and her previous owner was feeding her a diet that was partially natural.
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to. Be sure to include if you are interested in feeding whole prey (live or frozen-thawed) and if you are wanting to FULLY switch to a natural diet or PARTIALLY. If you are unsure what kind of diet you want to put your ferrets on, please express that and we can help you find the best type of natural diet for your ferret. I'm not sure what kind of diet I want to put my ferrets on. The one thing I am sure of is that for right now I'd like it to be partially natural.
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet? I believe it will be more beneficial to my ferrets. I also think that, after all, it's what they are naturally meant to have. (:
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Its not an overnight switch. It can be a commitment of several weeks or even months. Your HF Mentor will be more then happy to assist you in switchng your ferret(s) to a natural diet, but you need to be equally as commited. If you aren't willing to tough out a potentially lengthy switching process, or if you have major life changes approaching (baby on the way, moving, starting school, getting married/divorced, etc) then it might be a better idea to wait on switching your ferret's diet until you have more time. Are you willing to make the commitment? Yes, I am willing to make this commitment 100%. My little girls are a big part of my life and I want the best for them.
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight? I currently have two ferrets, both girls. One is named Mishka and the other is named Shosi. Mishka's birthday is December 20, 2009. Shosi's birthday is December 6, 2009. They are both around three-three and a half months of age. They have no health problems and they are both normal weight.
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets? (Please include all treats, supplements, etc) I currently feed my girls 8 in 1 Crunchy and 8 in 1 Soft Moist with a 3:1 ratio. I then mix in some FerreTone. For treats, I give them Yogies (the Peanut Butter and Banana & Raisin flavors). I also give them FerreVite once a day and mix Bi-Odor in their water.
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? If yes, what happened? I, personally, have not tried to switch them over. However, Shosi's previous owner was feeding her a partially natural diet with great success.
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share? I am a college student who lives for her little furbabies. (: My ferrets are still adjusting to one another since I just picked up Shosi yesterday.
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer? To be honest, when I'm not spending time with Mishka & Shosi, I'm probably online. I have access every day for an upward of ten hours.
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible).
This is Mishka.
This is Shosi.
