Hey everyone! I'm not new to the forum, but I've been away. I'm Amber and I live in PA with my 5 sweet fuzzies--Moki, Ginny, Lucinda, Sullivan, and Nuka.
We started the raw diet right after I got Sully and Nuka and they were all eating raw for months, but I was experiencing health issues this past fall and winter and considered going back to kibble to make things easier on me. When I was in the hospital for a week in February, my mom and I decided kibble would be the easiest thing for her to feed them while she was taking care of them, and that's what they've been eating for two months.
WELL I HATE IT!!! The kibble poop alone is enough to drive me mad! And they just don't look as healthy as they did before. They don't look malnourished or sickly, just not shiny and perky and pretty like they were on the raw diet. I never, ever should have switched them back. But what can I say? Some of us have to learn the hard way.
So today I made the decision that they're going back to raw and staying on it. I realize I'm probably going to have to start aaaall over again, but for me, it's cheaper and less mess to clean than with kibble, and it's better for them. I'm looking forward to reviewing my mentor progam thread and running out to buy raw goodies for them this week! Back to throwing chicken chunks in my blender! My parents will be thrilled. (Not.
