We helped Hobo over the bridge last night, when I checked on the fuzzbutts in the evening she was lying in a hammock struggling to breathe and had been bleeding out of one ear, I still don't know what happened but the vets up here know nothing about treating ferrets and there's zero way we could have gone to our vet today and I didn't want her to suffer all night even if we could, she could hardly move around and it broke my heart seeing her gasp and wheeze for air. Run free at the bridge with your cagemate Precious, she will be so happy to see you. I will miss your crazy face licking and trying to hang out on my head, clawing me half to death in the process.

Poor wee thing. I'm so sorry for you. It's never easy to say goodbye, even more difficult when the incident leaves so many questions. I"m guessing that you didn't do a necropsy? I will light a candle for little Hobo for once again she has packed her bags and is travelling. Little feet scurry along the dappled path, past the gurgling brook to the sunny field where many play. There are many bouncing and running, playing in the shade by the stream but one stand alone, waiting, knowing. A hop, a shake of the head. Noses sniff and remember, a quick nuzzle a nipped ear and they're off, racing....ducking into tunnels, digging in the moist earth. Once again they are together, forever, never to be apart again. Together they will wait for their most favourite and best friend who will someday walk up that path and scoop them up and give them hugs and snuggles. Until that time, they will play and sleep in the dark shadows and dream of sweet kisses and warm arms that used to hold them. Gentle journey sweet princess, you will be missed. Goodbye little Hobo....goodbye ciao

I am so sorry you lost your Hobo. But please know- you made the right decision for her. Sometimes waiting til the next day just isn't an option. And it sounds like it wasn't for her.
