Hello We recently added two little ferrets to our family. They are 4 and 5 month old boys. Almost immediately we started them on the raw diet. They took it well, except they do not want to eat liver or heart. Did anybody had the same problem? Any suggestions are very appreciated. Thank you Anna

Hello there Anna! My three will not eat heart by themselves, and only two of them will eat liver. What I do now is get some freeze-dried raw (I get Duck Duck Goose from Stella and Chewy's) and mix some of that with the liver and heart in a blender, then add one raw egg and some salmon oil. My three gobble this down like nothing else. x3 Before I could use freeze-dried, I would blend the heart and liver with a little of their favorite meat (pork) and add some salmon oil. They love salmon oil so it would usually go down pretty well.
Hope that helps some! :3

It took me a year of making liver soup(with heavy cream for flavour!), and spoon feeding, before they'd finally eat it on their own. For the heart, are you trying chicken, beef, what?

I give to ferrets chicken heart. Today they will get beef for the first time.

I make a mix of 50% (liver kidney heart) and about 50% muscle meat. I add in some of the water that the livers/heart sit in and put it through the blender. I then freeze it in ice cube trays. To start I had to drizzle a bit of salmon oil over it and I like to mix in some extra taurine and occasionally bone powder to firm up organ poops but now they eat it on their own. It took about two weeks. The addition of muscle meat helps to tone down the taste of the organs.
