A few of my cats used to be mousers. Well I wouldn't say mousers, but they did hunt and kill a few mice (escapees from my colony) Today I tried offering two of them (the used-to-be mousers) and neither were interested in the live hopper mouse. How can I get them interested in whole prey? Like the ferrets, I would like to get the cats and dog on a whole prey diet (once I'm producing my own feeders).

I would try different sizes, or maybe a prekilled one cut open. My cat took to mice after watching them run around in the tanks, but I tried to get her to take a gerbil and she caught it, dropped it, and looked at me like I was crazy. I ended up giving that one to the ferrets but I think as I breed more I will see if she'll take a pup.
Or maybe go about it like you would the ferrets, will the cats take chopped up meat? Canned food? Kind of gross but maybe a mix in would work, starting with chunk o' mice and working your way up.
