I can NOT get this out of my head, and was wondering if anyone could either give me some ideas how to proceed with this idea, or just tell me how crazy I am I've been thinking about investing in a mid sized child's pool or sand box and basically putting a small garden in it. Have part of it dirt and plants, maybe see if I can make a little pond section in there, and then my fuzzy could kinda play in it as wanted. A tarp under it would be necessary, and ferret safe plant information would be needed. Other than that does this sound doable? Or would it simply be better to stick with finding this stuff only while in the real outdoors (IE- Not bringing it into my bedroom)?

Maybe I am crazy but I like the idea. I dont know about ferret safe plants but I am sure there is a website around here somewhere. I think a pool would be fun but I would be worried if you left the room and the ferrets had an accident. Also, be prepared to have the plants dug up and possibly dragged places.

Oh, they will most definitely be dug up Possibly dragged, but also possibly just tossed aside to get at the next one! Herbs are generally a pretty safe bet, and they'll love the smell. Stay away from anything in the lily or onion family, though- those are all toxic to a greater or lesser degree. As well as most anything in the veg. family(not nec. toxic, but eaten could cause blockages).

That sounds super fun for your guys! Mine love to dig, and plants would make it that much better you may wanna try something a bit deeper than a kiddie pool though so that digging doesn't get dirt everywhere, and it could be more fun for them to tunnel into!

I love the idea...but I've seen what a couple of ferrets can do to "a" potted plant and the mess that is incurred by this little adventure I couldn't believe how much soil was in an 8 inch pot nor how far it found itself in my house or how well ferret fur holds potting soil. You may want to designate a room to this little escapade....muddy footy prints in your bed is not good I definitely want to see photos, I think it's an awesome idea Look carefully for my little wild fuzzy ciao

I have access to a fair few tools between myself and a close friend of mine. Perhaps building a small box with higher edges than the pool or sandbox would have and steps (That can be moved to make it unaccessible if necessary) would be a wiser option? I'm still stuck on the idea... I'm just trying to figure how to avoid a huge mess now.

I love the idea! I was thinking about doing one myself, but I have a little midget door storage space with finished walls and floors I may use...IDK yet. Def a good idea though!
