I got another ferret!! I am the crazy ferret lady in my house now! Well, for the past several weeks I have been searching the craigslist, and other sites trying to adopt a ferret from the community. Well, after heartbreak after heartbreak (people who have had a change of heart and decided to keep, or, if I contacted them just a moment too late) my husband went out and bought a dark sable girl 9weeks old. I know, I know. I said would never buy a ferret from the store again, but this girl needed adopting. She is a biter, and I think she has been there for a while. She will nearly draw blood. I figured either she wouldn't find a home because of her behavior, or if she did get adopted she may have found a life behind bars because of her biting problem. She is not very friendly to people yet, but is seems she is ok with ferrets. I think we are going to name her Jetta. It isn't set in stone, though. I told my husband that 8 is my limit, but you know I am bad with math. What is one or two more? I will still be keeping my eyes on the craigslist and classifieds. You never know!

A natural diet will help with the biting It gives your babies a healthy outlet for ripping, chewing, and biting. Many a ferret has shown improvment when switched to biologically appropriate food. Kits DO need discipline (so they learn not to bite) but the raw foods/whole prey foods CERTAINLY help to vent natural behavior, and make training easier. Congrats, Jaycee! I am happy for you! Good luck with your new addition! Meli- She has no digital camera

I am trying to find a camera....one that won't make us broke in the process! Trust me...you all will be the first ones to know when I actually get one. It is driving me nuts just the same as you. I want to share my pics like everyone else. I just need to do a little convincing with my husband first. .........or not!

It seems everyones getting a new baby, lol. I want one too. And with the biting, Mo was a biter too, I didn't even want to pick him up sometimes. But even though we aren't totally done with the switch yet, he hasn't even tried to bite once. I think it's a combo of all the chewing required for the chicken and also all the extra handling he's getting lately, since the only way I can make sure he's eating and not stashing is to hold him. Good luck and enjoy your new baby,

Good luck with the biting! I am still teaching Apple its not ok, and its been almost 6 months in July! Wow, I didn't realize he's been here that long! Anyway, I am excited you have found one and also am excited to see pics.
As for a camera, look for Kodak Easy Share. They are reasonably priced and are easy to share/print pics! Most of the editing and such you can do right on the camera or internet program. I wish I knew when they introduce new cameras, then you could buy the old ones going out that are on sale. I bet its before Thanksgiving that they start to phase out the old ones, and get the new ones in because of Christmas and what not.
Also, you are actually saving money by buying a digital camera. Think of all the disposables ($6-10) that you buy, then developing, its been so long since I've done that it used to run me $10-15. With a digital camera you can take about 300-500 pics depending on your memory card, and any you don't like, you delete so you're not stuck with those photos that are all black and didn't turn out! You know instantly if you need to retake. OK, enough of that! Good luck finding a camera and good luck with the biter!

Well, I have a nice film camera that I take lots of pictures with. I just have to get the pictures developed and scanned into the computer. Lots of work to do! But, the good news is...I found a reasonable camera on ebay (I love ebay...very addictive, though), and hopefully I will have it by this weekend. Then I get to post my babies all the time too! Yay!!!
