Hello, my name is Stephanie and... I'm horrible with these In any case I'm a college student on the south western side of Virginia whom accidentally ended up with a ferret one day (Long story short- it was me or death and I figured I was the better option for him). Twilight is (I believe) a sable ferret with white front mitts and a bib. I sadly had no idea the book was in existence when I brought him home and he was actually named after the time of day. He's a deaf boy but I've never had any issues with that and he's recently learned to come out when I flick the lights or tap my foot on the floor (He can feel the vibrations it seems and response well). I've been lurking around these forums for a bit and with a recent issue my fuzzy has been having I figure if I have to change foods raw is worth looking into.

Hi Steph, I'm glad you decided to sign up here. I do think the raw switch will help with Twilight's problem, even if it doesn't turn out to be IBD. There are quite a few ferrents on here who have dealt with IBD, too, so you'll have a lot of advice and experienced opinions to help you along the way!

Hi Stephanie. Welcome to the world of ferrets and to the forum Please feel free to prowl the site (I did notice that you signed up for a mentor, have patience we're a little full at the moment but we will get to you). Ask questions, read previous posts, read some of the mentoring posts too, you can read the personal mentor switches you just can't post to those. They can certainly give you an idea on a switching method that would suit both you and Twilight (I like the name ) Don't be shy, everyone here is friendly and quick to help out. Check out our health and nutritional section for hints and ideas on how to treat your little IBD fellow. I've had a couple of those furkids, though frustrating and challenging to regulate their diet it is really worth while when it finally starts to work. Good luck, I hope that I will be seeing you both around the site ciao

I promise pictures! As soon as I can find that pesky charger for my camera that's been missing since November... Everyone here does seem really friendly though which is a big plus. Erinn up there actually gave me the final push to move from from lurking to joining. I've been prowling around reading everything I can on here, and hopefully I'll be a bit more prepared once a mentor is ready to take me on.

Hello, I am a fellow Virginian (South Central) and I just got new ferret babies also. This is a wonderful site for information. I am waiting for mentoring myself and have been lurking a lot also-feel free to chit chat with me about general things, I am no expert but enjoy listening about fuzzies:)
