I'm not talking the parasitic sort, but I'm wondering about risks associated with the ferts eating earthworms. I have two cats that both think they're great hunters. Sasuke brings me robins and pigeons and even a got a squirrel once so he has some real prowess, but Kiba waits for it to rain then brings in the big night crawlers that surface and leaves them around the house. At first it was sort of cute because I found a couple up on my fish tank, so I could joke about him going fishing. Tonight I got home from class and found more presents and as I was tracking them down I realized I could just follow Akiko because she was running around and eating them as fast as she could! I'm thinking this probably isn't the first time she's cleaned up after Kiba as it rains often here and I generally leave a window open during the day so the cats have access to the outdoors while I'm in my classes. I'm not horribly worried about chemicals as I've never applied anything anywhere in my yard and neither do the neighbors as they both have kids that roll around in the yards all summer. I hate to restrict Kiba to being indoors most of the time (it rains so often the cats have acclimated and like to go out regardless) and I checked out my fish forum and found that nutritionally they are 62.2% crude protein and 17.7% crude fat, so not awful as an occasional snack. Other than the chemical thing, are there any risks I should be worried about? Thoughts? I snapped a pic with my phone before running off to pick up the others before she finished with a big one, I never thought I'd see a ferret eat a worm with such relish!
