Ok, the kids got 2/3 scoops of kibble, plus 1 lamb patty, 1 chicken/beef patty and a handful of the treat mix ( I put all the treats in one container for easy storage). I gave this to them earlier today. I also early this morn when I got Ollie out to give him is med's and Hills A/D put a patty (whole) in the food dish. Well it has vanished! I looked for it, either someone ate it or they stashed it! So I think I will start leaving them a little chunkier. Ollie is doing so-so. He is eating so that is a plus, but he still is soooo skinny and lethargic. Poor guy. They have this whole huge cage and do you know that they sleep all in one spot! Silly ferrets!

sounds good, yea you can start leaving it a bit chunkier...but even if someone did stash it, they will probably eat it eventually! As long as ollie is eating is the most important thing! if your worried about his weight, you can try adding kmr 2nd step (powdered mix) to his soup....my vet told me to use it when my group had ece and lost lots of weight....this helped them put it back on

kmr? What is that?
I made the patties chunkier tonight and the kiddos seem to like it fine. Still have not see Koda eat any of it. How should I go about getting him to at least try it?
Ollie still seems puny, but it has only been a few days. He still is eating and drinking, but.... Well he is my old baby. So we will see.

Ollie seems to be perking up some! Not 100%, but better.
Was cleaning the ferret area and found a hidey hole! It was full of raw food and stuffed animals! It was so cute!
Nothing else new to report.

Nothing new to report. Still have't been able to get Koda to try the raw, but I am still mixing it with the kibble too. So we shall see.

Hello! I have super busy as of late... so here is what has been happening: I am still mixing in the patties and dried meat treats. I am also doing soups (a/d hills and EVO canned mix) twice a day. The soups are mainly for Ollie, but the other kids (Hammy, Athena, and Murphy) have been helping themselves too. I do not think I can cut the kibble out because of Ollie. He still eats it and eats it well. I need to make sure I have food that he will eat for him to keep his weight up. So that is where we stand. When I fed the kids this morning. Murphy went for the patties. Athena and Lady G went right for the dry meat treats. Ollie was chowing down on the kibble. Lady G is too funny. She was taking them and "stashing" them and grabbing more and "stashing" them! Murphy just found her "stash" and is eating it! Ollie looks so much better. He def has put on some weight and seems to have perked up too. Really surprised at this. I really didn't think he would. Here is the dish mix. Here is Murphy chowing down!

Dont feel like you have to post everyday, your doing great! Its ok to feed the soups to everyone, like Ive said I feed mine weekly soups....especially in this season they get more hungry and put on more weight and soups help with the extra nutrition! Im glad Ollie has gained some weight (some people I know who have their ferrets on Hills a/d...for same reasons...have mentioned it makes them gain some healthy weight, so thats really good!) Great pics! Everything looks good, I do have a question though.....you say you dont want to get rid of th kibble for the reason of Ollie, so my question is, who else eats it when its out? or does everyone else go for the raw stuff?

It's a mix. Murphy, Athena and Lady G always for for the patties first. Hammy seems to eat whatever he happens to grab first (he really likes the soups though). Ollie will eat the raw and the soups and the kibble. It is a toss. Koda is a kibble eater only, that I have seen.

So then our goal now is to get Koda to take to raw....I know you have to leave kibble out for Ollie and she will always go for that too if its out Im assuming...so I am going to ask some other mentors about this situation and Ill get back to you for a way to go about this

So later on tonight I will have some answers for you about what the plan is for the kibble issue with Koda...sorry it took me so long I have a good friend going off to the Navy this week and I have been caught up with that But I promise I will get back to you either tonight or tomorrow morning!

So basically the only reply I have is that we just have to entice her to eat raw instead of the kibble that will be left out and Heather said sometimes it just takes time....if I hear anything from anyone else that has this same issue Ill let you know but we just need to make raw more appealing for her right now You can even separate her every once in a while for "certain" feeding times and give her only raw so she doesnt have a choice and see how she does with it and maybe we can show her that raw is much better

Well, I keep introducing it to him (Koda). I also mix in it the kibble too.
Nothing new.
