I am looking to order a Ferret Nation finally. I was wondering how serious the the problems with toes getting caught is with this cage and whether or not simple shelf covers can resolve the problem, or if the newer versions have rectified the problem?

I cover the shelves and my boys are all big so we have never had a problem. I dont use the ladders so they can build climbing stength so the covers arent interupted by the ladders. I dont know if they have fixed the problem but I know some people just dont use the shelves.
