Remember to sew the hole in the top shelf in the correct place!!! i cut out and sewed a pad for the the second shelf of my ferret nation... you know, the one with the hole in the back right corner for them to get down to the bottom? well i wasn't thinking when i pinned it and sewed it so i sewed the hole in the wrong spot! when the pad is upside down, the hole fits perfectly. when the pad is right side up the hole is in the bottom right corner. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! oh well, i'm going to use it anyway until i get more fleece but i could scream!!

That is a good reminder. The top full floor covers on my 2 sets of bedding the seamstress made it to where the pattern was on the wrong side so it was a waste of fabric since it solid fleece side up instead of patterned cotton side up. The set still looks really nice on the fleece side luckily. I like being able to alternate fleece side up cotton side up for example top shelf cotton top floor fleece (no other option lol ) bottom shelf fleece bottom floor cotton or all fleece or bottom floor all cotton and top floor all fleece. You get the idea I love bedding and I love decorating the cage I just don't cleaning it because of 38 clips the floor and shelf covers have altogether.

i dont do the patterned cotton and fleece for shelf covers, just a single piece of fleece with the seams sewed so they look tidy... unless you sew it the wrong way and you have to flip it over to the underside where the seams are not tidy. ugh!!

do you sew it to be like a pillow case that slides over the pan or do you use straps, clips ect? I've got fabric to make a rally nice set for my furkids but I dont want to start until i get some pointers
