So, Paulie has been having, among other things, trouble with lympadenopathy lately. As a result, he is now on prednisolone. As a result, his poo has changed, and I think it is in a positive way.
Now: it is a light brown, firm but not too firm consistency, smooth texture except for the occasional bone bit or smidge of carrot. In fact, it may be some of the most normal poo I've seen since he was a kit.
Before: it was a very firm, pale green (Which I always attributed to the vegetable content that ferrets cannot absorb). It almost seemed to crack, now that I think about, like maybe he'd been constipated. Since I've never fed com-raw, I always assumed it was normal, but now I'm not so sure ...
So my question is: those of you on a Nature's Variety raw rotation: did you commonly get the firm, greenish cast poos? Or is this something that I should report to my vet next time I visit? I of course, thought it was normal after the switch, so never mentioned it to her. But since we're trying to rule in or rule out lymphoma, I want as much evidence on the table as possible to get him the best care.
I figure this could help a few other folks. Poo issues are so different when dealing with raw.

The only way mine have ever eaten NV is in a soup form, but the stool was never greenish in colour. All I'd add was water, so if it was the food, it should still have had the same effect. I do know stool can have a green colour when it passes through their system too quickly. Maybe ask your vet when you see him/her.

Alright. I always associated that kind of green poo with diarrhea (which he tends to have randomly). He does eat his food with a bit of water. Its almost like a grey-brown-green and it dries more yellow (unless there's some classic green mixed in).
I just can't believe how normalized (I figure its more normal) it has become since starting the pred. I need batteries for my camera, so I can take pictures if another of these comes up--for the vet if nothing else. He's had a couple green-grey poos since he started meds, but most have been ... well, a nice light brown that I've not seen on raw. *crosses fingers* I hate to think he's continued to have tummy troubles since he started raw, but its beginning to look that way.

I don't feed NV, but feed Wysong, AFS, and S&C. I've never experienced dry green poop before. Poops are brown and well-formed. I think you should mention this to your doc. As pred is an anti-inflammatory, it could be helping with some sort of IBD issue.

I feed Primal commercial raw to Loki. The pheasant is green (from the spinach I think) but her poops come out normal brown and formed.

I'm with Jojodancer on this one --- the greenish poops sound like a result of an IBD issue, which the pred would be helping, explaining the difference now.
Unfortunately IBD is often associated with lymphoma or other types of cancers (adrenal, insulinoma, etc can all cause bowel upsets.)
My late girl Sailor had lymphoma, and horrible IBD issues. I switched her to raw, cut the chicken mostly from her diet (though she still got chicken organs and the occasional wing or something,) and put her on pred - all of which helped her tremendously. It wasn't until she started coming down with adrenal as well that things started to drastically change for the worse, again.
