When we first moved in, here was the FN: But just out of the photo is our gas furnace, which became quite necessary a few weeks ago. So, the FN had to relocate into our bathroom/laundry room. To stand it upright, we had to take off the shelf and casters. I thought I'd miss the storage, but I love it this way. No more step-stool to the top! I can reach right into the back corners. It's fantastic. Even better... NO MORE SCOOPING! About every other week I just dump the whole thing. Mix in a little baking soda with the wood pellets and there's no smell whatsoever. I think I have finally found the perfect setup for us! Oh, and that cover I made... Hocus dug holes right through it. I'm going to remake it into in-cage accessories, because he never destroys anything inside the cage... just whatever he can manage to reach from it

What is the liner you used? I am interested in doing that to one of my levels because my guys like to poop along the bars.

It's a plastic "mixing tub" that I got from Menards (our local home improvement chain). My husband used a skilsaw to cut the lip off, so it fits with a little to spare all around. Enough so that they can get between it and the bars, but with litter in it they can't lift it, so I let them have their fun crawling around it.
Now that I've been using it awhile, I'd like it to have handles... either cut holes in it, or rivet on a strap or something just to make it easier to carry. It's still great though.
