With great sorrow, I must announce the loss of one of my senior girls, little Lady Zena. Little Zena came into my life about 3 yrs ago. I only met her at this point, she didn't come to me then. She was turned into rescue along with 3 boys. I got the boys, Zena supposedly had already found a forever home. Within the year she was once again on the rescue board. At this time I had 18 fuzzies and couldn't take her but placed her in a foster home. A prospective home came up and she was back at my place. It fell through and I decided that no creature should ever have to change that many homes. She found a forever home here, with me. She decided to move in with Lady Sprite and Aremis and lately had also adopted Ladies Pooka and Babushka. We suspected that she might have the beginnings of insulinoma. At her age (8 or 9 yrs) this would not be an uncommon problem. Her blood sugar came back low but not dangerous, so she was treated with diet. Last Tues, I found her in the throws of a severe seizure. We managed to pull her out and she seemed to recover. Today, she suffered what appeared to be a debilitating stroke. Upon, further examination a tumour was discovered on her pancreas and another lession on her brain. So, my dear little lady, passed quietly away in my arms, hopefully realizing that she did indeed have a home and that she was truly loved and will be so severely missed. Goodbye my sweet furchild, you gave the best fuzzy kisses. I'm so going to miss you. ciao

Oh no heather! That is so sad, I am sorry to hear this news. It has truely been a rough week here at HF (with the loss of yoru Zena, and the loss of little Chaos). I hope that in time you are able to heal. Zena sounds like she was well loved, and I know you cared for her so much. She was truely lucky to be with you. I know nothing I say will "bring her back" or "make the pain go away" but I hope you know that you are in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss. sweet Zena! Have fun at the rainbow bridge and give em hell! I hope you have fun causing all the trouble in the world. Digging through endless tunnels and eating as many mice and meats that can fit into your belly!
