Anyone know of a good disinfectant for the house after a coccidia/ECE outbreak? I've heard bleach solutions, ammonia solutions, and steam-cleaning. I'll have to rent a steam-cleaner for the carpet and upholstery, but does anyone know if bleach or ammonia is the better disinfectant for the cages, laundry, and floors? Thanks

I'd use the bleach.

A dilute bleach solution would kill the bacteria better. If I remember correctly, to kill anything, it's a 10 part water to 1 part bleach.

My understanding that vinegar and peroxide (please not in the same bottle unless you're into bad chemistry lessons) actually works better than bleach or amonia and doesn't require a facemask to work with it. ciao
