There's a butcher near me that sells pork brains. Are those safe for a ferret to eat?

I want to say it's a good source of taurine (important for ferrets and cats) and also lecithin. Don't hold me to this Hopefully someone else pops in here. I want to say someone brought it up once, and I want to say it's ok to feed, and very nutritious! I think if it was cow or deer brains from bad sources, you would have to worry about mad cow disease and other bovine diseases affecting the brain. Hopefully someone else can help us out here

According to articles that I've read ** there is no evidence thus far that eating pork or even pork brains will trigger the illness.** However, it is strongly suggested that you don't pulverize and inhale them.... It is stated that they're very high in cholestrol and humans should eat only small amounts ....shouldn't be a problem for the ferrets ciao

I have fed pork brains and even fairly small amounts cause stinky, soft poops in all my critters. I'm going to be cutting back the amounts I feed to thumbnail size.

Good to know. I'll only buy a small amount then, and maybe blend it into her Saturday morning soups.
