She didn't have a problem with it when I first brought her home, but suddenly Zoe seems to want nothing to do with her water dish. Every time I put it in her cage she gets her nose under it and knocks it over. I tried replacing it with a water bottle, but she didn't understand it, and wouldn't drink. I tried moving the dish up onto a different level, or putting it in different spots, but every time she just knocks it over. What do you guys suggest I try?

Do you have a heavy ceramic dish that's wider on the bottom than the top? My Fierra loves to push her water bowls around too, but with that style of dish the best she can do is slosh some water out.
There are also dishes you can buy that clamp on to the bars of the cage.

it's a fairly heavy dish, but it's not wider on the bottom. I'm thinking I may switch her food and water bowls and see if that makes a difference.

My kids enjoy this game too, I ended up buying lock on crocks. now they cant even slosh lol. They dig in the water on occasion but eventually get sick of it.

I use lock on bowls too, they can't dump them and for most of the fuzzies it works very well.....I wish Mr Squiggly would get sick of digging in the water bowls He goes around and digs all the water out in turn, has a great time. He then goes and swims in the dog's water bowl I told him he's going to get moldy He thinks he's an otter ciao

I use a lock on bowl for the water, they don't try to dump the food (yet lol). But then Izzy learned that she could somehow push it up, and then lay on her back and "dig" up... it splashed water everywhere so I had to use a latch to latch it down even more.

I have to use croc-locs as well. They are great. I just lock them at a height where they have some trouble getting their elbows in to dig a lot(some still do ), but low enough that the smaller ones can reach them easily. Before I got the croc-locs, I used a heavy ceramic dish set inside a round cake pan . They could dig all they wanted, but the water just spilled into the pan!

My furkids "public" (shared with kitties and dog)water bowl is a super sized metal dog water bowl....it had to be placed inside a clean super sized litter box. Squiggly, Napoleon and Odin all believe that water should never be still and confined ;D and should be released to experience life just like them ciao

I was going to suggest a lock on croc as well. This is what I have and I couldn't live without it. Fugue is my water bowl scooter. He drags the bowl until the water flys all over the floor and then he drinks off the floor. Ewww!!! I tried putting his water in a plate (thinking maybe he wanted to drink off the floor because he didnt like his whiskers being pushed against the water bowl) but he just walked through the water. Ugh. Got with the lock on croc. It will save your sanity.

I wasn't able to find these lock on croc things, but a heavy ceramic bowl like her food one seems to be doing the trick for now. She doesn't seem interested in tipping it over anymore (Cause she's lazy methinks).

I use short bungee cords to fasten the heavy ceramic water bowls to the cage. It doesn't stop the ones who dig, but they can't move it around or overturn it.
