I haven't started seriously switching my ferts to raw yet, for various reasons, but just for kicks i threw a chicken wing on the floor in the play room... and Freja grabbed it, lifted it high like a flag, and then began backing away in circles to try to get somewhere safe to snack on it!
She couldn't see around the thing to go forwards, but she couldn't see where she was going behind her, either, so she kept wobbling around and bouncing off things until she found her way under my desk, where she went to town on it. She did a lot of crunching and gnawing, but i don't think she actually ingested any. Her sister Ghost had NO interest whatsoever.
Still, an extremely successful attempt. Soon I'm going to star with souping them up, and slowly introduce raw from there, but as a treat, I think this was a success.
Just had to share. I wish i had pics.

Congratulations to you and your little one. Give her a big hug from me...she did really good. Try playing tug with Ghost, using a chicken wing. You have to remember they don't recognise it as food right off, so why eat it as such. If it's not kibble it isn't food . ciao

That would have made a great video Freja has made a wonderful start! Congrats. Mine have been raw for over a year, but if I give a whole wing, the brats still just stash it, and come looking for their food Can we say "spoiled"?

Thanks for the advice, both on the tug of war idea and the fact that many ferts think of a wing as a toy, not food. I'll keep experimenting with them.
